About Manorcourt Care

Great things often start from small beginnings and Manorcourt Care is no exception. Founded in 1998, Manorcourt Care is the legacy of two pioneers in the long-term care industry, John and Fee Sharples. It began with Shipdham Manor, a residential home for thirty elderly guests, followed by residential homes, St Leonard’s Court and Bilney Hall, all of which offer day care. Today Manorcourt Care is one of the most visionary care providers in East Anglia, proud of its reputation for a constantly evolving and innovative approach to care.

Manorcourt Care is a complete care service organisation; in addition to providing residential care and dementia care facilities, it also offers a full range of care services for those in the community including Domiciliary Care and a Day Centre, which provides activity and stimulation for the clients, as well as respite for the carers. Coupled with carefully developed specific training services exclusively for the care sector, Manorcourt Care continues to go from strength to strength in providing quality care and so much more.

Fee is a registered general nurse who trained at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. She has had extensive experience as a ward sister, practice nurse and a sister in a nursing home. More recently she has been working with Business Link for Norfolk, using her qualification as a Small Business Adviser to promote training within the care sector.

John was an army officer for 26 years accumulating considerable experience in administration and people management, having commanded his regiment in the first Gulf War, for which he was awarded an OBE. Of late he has been chair of the Norfolk Residential Care Homes Association, chair of Norfolk Joint Care Partnership and chair of Norfolk & Suffolk Care Support Ltd.

Fee and John pride themselves on remaining actively involved in the day-to-day running of all Manorcourt projects. Their dedication and personal involvement in every aspect of the business assures its continued success.
