Carers ‘get on their bikes’ to support people in their homes across Norwich30th January 2020
Manorcourt Homecare, which provides a range of care and support services to people living in their own homes throughout Norfolk, has opened a new branch in Bowthorpe, Norwich.
To mark the opening of the new location, the team has embraced the city’s love of cycling and has purchased two new bikes for its carers to use when visiting nearby customers.
The branch, which is led by manager Anne-Marie Brown, was previously located in Attleborough, however the new base provides a more convenient location to access both the city as well as the neighbouring villages. Anne-Marie Brown, who has progressed from care manager up to branch manager, believes the relocation offers the best of both worlds to customers and staff alike:
Confirms Anne-Marie Brown, “We are delighted to open our new branch which is situated in Bowthorpe’s Shopping Centre precinct; it’s in a perfect location for accessing the city, as well as neighbouring rural communities. It is well connected for commuting staff, as well as for reaching people who live across Norwich.
“Since moving here, we decided to fully embrace Norwich’s cycling city status and have collected two new bikes from Halfords in Norwich, who kindly supporting our cause by discounting our purchase. This will not only help reduce our carers’ carbon footprint but also promotes a healthier lifestyle.
“Our care coordinator Kelly and team leader Ryan collected these from Halfords and they are now readily available for our care team to use when visiting our neighbouring customers – do give them a wave if you see them out in the community!”
Anne-Marie Brown started working with Manorcourt Homecare in 2016. Today, her branch has a team of 28 carers and is currently recruiting for more staff to join the busy office, to meet the increasing demand for care-at-home services across the region.
As well as the Bowthorpe branch in Norfolk, Manorcourt Homecare also has branches located in Swaffham, Watton, Brooke and Thetford.
Manorcourt Homecare, the homecare services division of residential care provider Healthcare Homes, specialises in delivering a range of care packages to people who wish to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
Each branch provides person-centred care and support services that are tailored to individual needs of people requiring in-home care packages. For further information call Anne-Marie Brown and her team on 01953 451541.Back
