I enjoy being able to make a difference, knowing that I have helped supported someone to resolve an issue is rewarding 

What’s been your biggest professional challenge in your current role, or in your career to date? 

Being involved in the start up with the Norfolk Local Authority project EHSS for my previous provider. I managed the North team alongside my domiciliary care teams. This has given me a great deal of experience which I have been able to utilize into my current role. 

What has been your biggest career highlight to date? 

Managing two branches at the same time, whilst ensuring the safe tupe transfer of one to another provider. During this time making sure that the quality of the service providedid not slip, keeping clients and care workers up to date with information and providing information to local authorities was challenging, but rewarding. 

What qualities do you think make a good branch manager? 

Being calm and approachable. When someone comes to you and they are looking for help, make them feel like you are offering them support and not that you are willing to give this to them. Having a good sense of humor at all times and trying to see the best in everything is also very helpful! Never giving up and always looking forward is always good to boosting morale in the team! 

What are your interests outside of work/how do you unwind? 

I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. I enjoy spending time away in our caravan, spending time at the beach and a good BBQ!

I previously worked for Manorcourt in 2014 I left due to having my daughter after having other jobs in health and social care I decided join Manorcourt again as I worked will within the company and enjoyed my job role more.

What do you think a person needs to do to be good in your role?

To be able to listen to others and treat everyone equal, be able to work under pressure and met deadlines, also be confident within the job role and willing to learn and gain more knowledge.

What’s your favourite part of your working day and why?

Meeting people and learning about their needs, wishes and preferences and then being able to put a care plan together that suits them so that they can receive the best care and support.

What’s been your biggest professional challenge in your current role, or in your career to date?

Stepping up from a care worker to a team leader.

What has been your biggest career highlight to date?

Completing my NVQ level 2.

Someone who is willing to listen to their team, trustworthy and approachable and someone who treats all their team members equally.

Working alongside a great team within the office, we can always make each other smile. Being promoted to Care Manager, the company valued me and are supporting me in my new role.

I was a support worker for young adults with learning disabilities at Easton Collage.

Prior to that, I worked at HMP Wayland for the NHS as a Pharmacy Technician.

I have been in care work for the last 25+ years.

Efficient/ Organised/ Good listener/Be prepared to continue learning.

What has been your biggest career highlight to date?

Gaining my Level 3 award in teaching and Training Which I completed and received my certificate Feb 2020. I am very proud of myself.

I have 14 grandchildren so my time spent with them is very precious.
