To turn around an area which was struggling

Being nominated and selected as finalist for the carers award

What qualities do you think make a good home manager?

Organisational skills, respect and empathy towards all staff and service users.  To be non-judgmental and not to influence your own personal beliefs on others.  To lead and guide, not to pressure and demand.

What do you enjoy/are you looking forward to the most about working at this care home?

Walking the dog to the beach and woodlands with my husband.  Embarrassing my grandchildren and eating out with friends.

What role did you carry out before you came to Healthcare Homes

I was a Health Care Assistant at Norwich Community Hospital on a rehab ward

What do you think a person needs to do to be good in your role?

Maintain confidentiality at all times. To be confident in themselves and have a good relationship with staff and service users.

What’s your favourite part of your working day and why?

Making a positive impact on someone’s life and putting a smile on their face.  There is no better job satisfaction.

What’s been your biggest professional challenge in your current role, or in your career to date?

Becoming a team leader will be the biggest challenge so far in my career.  I can’t wait.

What has been your biggest career highlight to date?

This will be my biggest career highlight stepping in to a senior role.

What qualities do you think make a good home manager?

Be confident, friendly and someone you feel you can talk to.

What do you enjoy/are you looking forward to the most about working at this care home?

I love football, whether playing or watching.  To unwind, I enjoy walks.

I am looking forward to my first senior role.  It has been my ambition ever since I started.
